1. The mission of this church with every church around the globe is the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20.
2. The vision then is to be a congregation of God's people who are intentional about the Great Commission, who see the mission field as global, national, and local such as unsaved neighbors, friends, fellow employees, and people that we touch on a day-to-day, on-going basis. Sarasota and Manatee County is our primary mission field. The vision statement therefore is:
   
   The Bay Shore Mennonite Church exists to call the people of Sarasota and Manatee Counties to be followers of Jesus Christ. We will offer ourselves daily in worship. We will train people to be His disciples, creating them to be a community of love, joy, and peace, sending them out to bring hope to the world. "Calling People to New Life in Christ"

This is how we are going to get there.

• Worship
  • We will spend time with God and his WORD individually and corporately.
  • We will worship with song and dance, with instruments and voices, multi-racial and multicultured, young and old, hearing God's word and obeying His commandants.
  • We will pray but mostly listen.
    
    
• Fellowship
  • We will gather as a congregation in celebration of God's goodness in worship and around the table, inside and outside, praying and playing.
  • We will meet as men's groups and women's groups, as youth and young adults and as children.
    
    
• Ministry
  • We will minister to each other and receive ministry from each other.
  • We will teach and train, anoint and appoint, baptize and embrace people both inside and outside the "walls" of our facility.
  • We will seek to minister to the whole family.
    
    
• Discipleship
  • We will teach people what it means to be followers of Jesus Christ and "doers of the Word".
  • We will help people to discover their spiritual gift/s and place in the Body of Christ.
  • We will teach faithful stewardship of all that God has entrusted to us including in body, soul, material resources, time and gifts.
    
    
• Evangelism
  • We will send people out each Sunday to be representatives of Jesus Christ and call others to be followers of Jesus Christ.
  • We will reach out each and every day to bring hope to people who are broken, stressed and without Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
